About the Author
Ro'i Tov is a graduate of Tel Aviv University and the Weizmann Institute of Science. In addition to his memoir, Tov is published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Molecular Physics and other scientific journals.

The Cross of Bethlehem is a memoir of a Christian Israeli military officer caught in the crosshairs between a country that demands total obedience, even if that means firing on rock-throwing women and children, and following his conscience. In a story of faith and courage, tragedy and hope, the author, Ro’i Tov, shares the heartache of growing up an outsider in the tight-knit kibbutzim along the Jordan Valley. It is here that his sharp intelligence, instead of buying him the freedom he so desperately desires, traps him in a company without a moral compass and a military that challenges his spiritual and moral beliefs. When he leaves Israel and threatens to tell the world what he has witnessed, he finds himself on a high-stakes journey that takes him from Thailand to China, from the US to South America. Only time will tell if justice will prevail and faith will conquer fear so that God’s message of love and peace can be revealed.

As an American (and Christian) I have often found it baffling why Israel behaves the way it does and why America has the relationship it does with Israel. There is often the myth and then the reality. Ro'i Tov weaves a spellbinding account of his life's journey as he weaves his way growing up and living through the labyrinth of Israeli society, politics, university life, business and military service and ultimately into a race to freedom in southeast Asia. From an early age he begins a spiritual awakening and a suffers from a growing disparity between the actions of Israeli Institutions and State vs Christ's message of peace, love and goodwill for all mankind. For Americans it is also a wake-up call to the dangers of allowing a surveillance state to be established in the United States. Institutions have a mindless way of doing what they are setup to do without any regard to the consequences of their actions or effect on innocent people and rights of individuals. Mr. Tov has managed the difficult task of creating a book that is both strong on content and a really great read

This book was one that I also could not put down. Mr. Tov is quite an extraordinary man. He is very intelligent, resourceful, and perceptive. He is a scientist and businessman by training, but has managed, amongst most difficulty, to write this book...an enlightening insight into Isreali life and philosophy. His pursuit by the Mossad tells just what lengths the Isreali government will go to in order to squelch any Truth about their country becoming public. Isreal is in fact a most hateful and prejudiced and intolerant country, even lacking in a state constitution...so they can make up laws as they go along.
I hope Mr. Tov is now relaxed somewhere and enjoying a truly good cup of coffee...it is well deserved! I am buying a copy of this book to donate to my local library so others can enjoy and learn from it as well.

Sounds like a book I would like to read. I have three I am reading now and three I just ordered from the Library... So, it's gonna be awhile.

--------------------
To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Yeah. And when you're done with that one why don't you check out the Protocols of the Elders of Zion?

Hey busybody, the Muslim Brotherhood wants to know when you'll be sending in your annual fees, and some chick from UCSD who's "for it" wants to be your facebook friend.

From Amazon.com. People who bought this book also bought:

The illuminati: The Cult that Hijacked the World,

Synagogue of Satan,

They Own it All (including you!)

and

The Jews and their Lies.

That's not a joke. Those are the book titles directly from Amazon.com

But busybody isn't anti-semitic. Just ask him.

I'm not read my posts more closely think about why you feel the way you do about comment like mine. why do they make you feel the way they do?

maybe instead of thinking that people bought those other books becase they worship satanand hate jews
maybe they bought them to understand what is behind the curtian and unravle the lie?

this sums up prety well the point im trying to make here

This is not a matter of two nations at war, however, since the Palestinians do not yet have a separate state. Israelis have the ability to kill or drive away most of the Palestinians, while the Palestinians do not have that power against the Israelis. This unequal contest may turn out badly for all of us unless the USA and others intervene effectively. If Palestinians continue to use terrorism to try to achieve their goals, and if Israel continues to use military force against the Palestinian people to combat terrorism, many other nations may find themselves involved against each other regarding the conflict.

This is a typical tactic: lump anyone who questions the current status quo with the KKK and any other vile hate group you can think of.

If you know any non Zionist US Jews ask them what they think about the ADL and the the mideast conflict and let me know what they say.

My guess is you formed your opinion from years of watching the nightly news, listening to NPR, local am radio, and reading local papers.

Whoa... how do you find out that information, and why is it any of your business really?

People buy/read books just because it peaks an interest... not everyone is the book they read.

I personally have checked out at the Library...

"The extra ordinary healing power of ordinary things" Larry Dossey, M.D.

"The Velveteen Principles"

Something on Intelligent Design

a couple of more and then uh oh... Omg! I just ordered...

"The God Delusion" By Richard Dawkins and two more books by Sam Harris... both authors are athiest.

Now, does that mean that I don't beleive in God?

Off the subject but not the topic!!!! I just received my copy of the book, DEAR JOHN and can't wait to find time to start reading it. I am one of those readers who will start reading and can't put it down!! My grandaughter saw it sitting on the table and told me she read it and sobbed like a baby. But then she saw the movie and it didn't affect her half as much as the book. Has anyone had this experience!!! I also read that this book and movie had different endings!!! What do I do first---read or watch???? ohmy.gif

The problem seems to be that people can't differentiate between Zionism (radical terror based political agenda) and Judaism ( a religion) that is the reason I get call a racist those that do that do not understand the difference! Why can’t I be against a political agenda and not hate a whole race of people most of which do not support Zionism in the first place?

are anti-zionist jews racitst?

Questions:
Does Israel have the right to exist?
Does Israel have the right to blockade ships suspected of bring in weapons into Gaza.

Keep in mind that there were other ships in that "humanitarian aid flotilla" that was willing to pull into an Israeli port and have their ship inspected for weapons. The one ship that refused was stopped by the Israelis because they were suspected of bringing in weapons. Israel is trying to exist and all the Arab countries surrounding it are hell-bent on destroying them. They broadcast that intent. They preach it to their people. They intend to do it. Israel has the right to exist and when you lob bombs into their sities they will respond in kind.

As far as the remarks made:
oh and dont for get the author of the book Ro'i Tov is a Jew is he a anti semite?
that does not make any sense!

There are many Jewish professors at Ivy League schools and other liberal universities across America that are anti-semitic. Google the name Norman Finklestein and you will find the most nasty and dishonest Jewish anti-semite in America.

what do you call a black person who does not like the politcal agenda of jessie jackson?
I would call this black person a level-headed and open minded individual.
